Middleweight bout: Rich Franklin defeated Travis Lutter via TKO (strikes) at 3:01 of the 2nd round. Lutter was subsequently released from his UFC contract after underperforming and losing his second consecutive bout.

Lutter had nothing but a tenacious take down. Franklin was impressive escaping from being mounted and from an armbar. In the second Lutter was gassed and Franklin showed his usual dominant striking.
I'd like to see Rich stay at Middleweight. While a fight with Fihlo would be appealing, I certainly hope he stays with the UFC.
There's plenty of good fights for him at middleweight and if he puts down the next four top contenders, which would take around two years, then why not give him another shot (if he wants it).
